New Course: EDE – ED Echo Online Course

October 19, 2015 | by SeeMore

Since 2001, the EDE – ED Echo course has been taught over 700 times to over 10,000 Canadian and international physicians and allied health professionals. Its use has become the standard of care in large trauma centres, remote settings and everything in between; it has even been used in Canadian Forces combat units in Afghanistan to teach them the ins and outs of point-of-care ultrasound.

After registration, participants are given access to an introduction text and video for the ED Echo online course. Successfully completing a test on this material unlocks the next module. This process is repeated until all the material has been covered in text and video form, and then followed by an 8 hour day of almost-pure scanning time. By doing all of the didactic training ahead of time, the course day can be shortened, dedicating more time to probe work.

You can also request a “designed for you” custom course based on the following list of modules:

  • Cardiac (global cardiac activity and pericardial effusion)
  • Thoracic (pleural effusion/hemothorax and/or pneumothorax)
  • Abdomen (intra-abdominal hemorrhage)
  • Third-trimester issues
  • Abdominal Aorta (AAA)
  • Fractures
  • Obstetrical (ectopic pregnancy)
  • IVC assessment for volume status
  • Vascular Access
  • Ascites
